Constitution:
Where as it was
felt expedient, as a result of the calamitous havoc caused by half past
two insurgency period in CHTs. In the whole area of the CHITTAGONG HILL
TRACTS countless tribal community people became very poor in socially,
economically and in all aspects. TO establish the above mentioned
communities, a socio-economic development organization was established in
CHTs which is Jumchab Metta Foundation, it should be a voluntary
charitable organization, Jumchab hereby gives itself its constitution
herein after as follows:
1. Name:
The name of the organization shall be the "Jumchab Metta Foundation". The
abbreviation will be JMF.
2. Central Office:
The permanent office of the Jumchab shall be situated at Rangapani, P.O.
Rangamati, P.S. Kotwali, District Rangamati Hill Tracts.
3. Area of Operation:
The area of operation of the jumchab shall be the whole individual
Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.
4. Aims and Objects:
a) Social,
Religious, Educational, Cultural and Economical development of the of
individual Chittagong Hill Tracts.
b) To undertake Humanitarian works.
c) To undertake programmes of public welfare and inculcate of ideas of
universal friendship[ and brotherhood among the people with a view to
establishment of WORLD PEACE.
d) In order to achieve these aims and objectives, the Jumchab will:
i) Offer shelter of the
distressed children of the districts of individual Chittagong Hill Tracts
with a view to developing the children into good citizen.
ii) Build up the character of the children by moral and religious
instructions imparted through pali college establishment for the purpose
with a ultimate view to developing them into good citizen.
iii) Organize educational institutions to impart general education to the
children.
iv) Organize and manage training institute's to impart such vocational
training as weaving, Sewing, Carpentry, Cane-work and basketry etc.
v) Maintain and manage a Buddhist temple to serve the religious needs.
